Steroids are blamed for uncontrolled aggressiveness again and again

However it is not yet proven scientifically whether “roid rage” is an adverse consequence of steroids, these medicines are blamed for several criminal actions quite often.
Michael Barton, a man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. The driver of Ford Fiesta was Paul Gard. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then he had to pull back in front of him, since another car was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton got maddened, stopped his car, broke the wing mirror of Paul Gard’s Ford Fiesta and hit the man in the face. Then Gard’s wife took her mobile and informed police. While she was calling, Barton drove off calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old man that has a son of two years old, takes steroids to bulk up. So, it has been said that these medications affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young man affirmed that steroids had a negative impact on temperament of his client, since these medicines increased his testosterone levels.
Previously Barton was convicted for several crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young man pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly because of his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton at Portsmouth Crown Court Deputy Circuit affirmed that he was not sure that steroids led to improper behavior. But he added that it was completely mad to become angry and hit a person in the face only because he flashed him. The judge claimed that Barton’s behavior was very dishonorable and he announced: “you ought to go to prison”.
So, this person was given 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also enforced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the car.

Green tea may mask testosterone use

Athletes become more and more sophisticated in intake of steroids. They study new methods to mask their administration of prohibited preparations. Several athletes spend time studying scientists’ statements that can help them to hide that they dope. Nowadays a way has been discovered: sportspeople can mask administration of testosterone by drinking of green tea.
Testosterone represents a hormone which is produced in body naturally. Thus, it may be difficult for anti-doping organizations to determine that an athlete has administered testosterone. T: E ratio testing is ordinarily used by anti-doping organizations. Such tests can manifest uncommon ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it is not capable to display difference between testosterone that has been secreted in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, creams, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have found that green tea has such substances which are called “catechins”. They can inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme promotes joining glucuronic acid to testosterone. In case UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the substances that have ability to mask testosterone use, are in green and white tea. Black tea lacks such compounds.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted some experiments. They claim that a cup of strong green tea hides intake of testosterone.
So, those sportspersons who use testosterone can reduce quantities of testosterone which are excreted in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea is able to block excretion of testosterone, increasing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the discovering by the experts. If this process occurs, it means that it is not worthy to subject sportspersons to urine tests. Blood tests must be performed for detection of testosterone use.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s scientist, affirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping agencies in order to avoid fooling of urine tests.

However bottles sent to Wim Vansevenant were labeled as doping products, they were just amino acids

The case linked with Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, changed significantly. An analysis displayed that the doping preparations which were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents written on the labels. The former rider was cheated by the company where he ordered the products.
Last year certain packages sent to the former Belgian rider by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. According to the labels of  the intercepted  bottles,  they contained the doping substance TB-500. It represents a peptide hormone that can enhance stamina and speed healing. An investigation was started by the Belgian authorities. It was suspected that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping substances. This sportsperson rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of his career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles seized by customs manifested that they contained only amino acids. Wim Vansevenant’s attorney noted that the case had to be dropped. He explained that since the preparation was not linked with doping, the former athlete didn’t deserve to be punished.
The prosecutor’s spokesperson Johan Lescrauwaet claimed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the product that was written on the label and to the words of the former sportsperson.
Just amino acids were found in the bottles. No any doping medication. So, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping drugs to other individuals.
The hearing of the former Belgian professional rider was scheduled to be later.

Theory of contamination in case against Roger Clemens

Testimonies of the prominent toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably influence significantly on decision of the court in the case connected with Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This specialist didn’t testify on behalf of the government. Although he was invited in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies didn’t correspond to those that are ordinarily provided by anti-doping organizations. This toxicologist testified on behalf of the accused sportsperson.
Bruce Goldberger has gained his celebrity due to his appearing on different news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from critical words. He criticized certain anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger expressed criticism for federal prosecutors in the case related to Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by McNamee to support that his client utilized steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this sportsman, presented a beer can containing utilized needles and syringes which had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Clemens’ blood. The beer can was maintained by McNamee more than 6 years. The toxicologist noticed that such basis was not reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger confirmed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He noted that the accusation couldn’t be proven because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the governmental agents. Earlier he also expressed criticism linked with evidence utilized by some anti-doping organizations.
Some years ago the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of the American cyclist Floyd Landis, when this athlete appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab situated in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were used by the lab. Bruce Goldberger expressed similar words and criticism during the appeal related to Floyd Landis.
The toxicologist Bruce Goldberger noticed during an interview that the WADA utilized unsuitable ways and violated rights of sportspeople in order to have the success in anti-doping programs.
As for Floyd Landis, he didn’t have success in his appeal and admitted that he had administered steroids, EPO and some other related products.
No one knows which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to using banned medications? Or will be the results opposite?

Lack of changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens may prove that he hasn’t used steroids

Every baseball fan knows that Roger Clemens is accused in obstruction of justice. It is claimed that he has lied before Congress about usage of steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin pointed out that Roger Clemens’ physical appearance didn’t change greatly before, during and after his working with the coach Brian McNamee. He claimed that this factor was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t taken steroids and other related products.
Appearance of muscles is usually used by prosecutors as proof that a person applied steroids or/and other performance-enhancing drugs. But this tendency was not used during the case against Roger Clemens. No one could confirm that muscles of Roger Clemens manifested that he had taken steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the cases against Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, federal prosecutors called numerous individuals in the trial who were able to testify that anabolic steroids caused substantial changes in physical appearance of this athlete. They considered that intake of steroids led to increase of muscle mass, enhanced size of the head and testicular shrinkage in Barry Bonds.
So, the defense attorney Rusty Hardin provided 4 photos of Roger Clemens. The pictures were made four different times during the baseball career of Roger Clemens, including the period of time when Clemens was working with the trainer Brian McNamee. The attorney pointed out that the pictures showed that there was no difference in physical changes that could support that he utilized steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin noticed that the pictures manifested just the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also claimed that she didn’t observe any changes in physical appearance of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens experienced neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor dramatically increased muscle size.
The former Major League Baseball player Phil Garner also confirmed that there were not any obvious changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with Brian McNamee.
The Assistant US Attorney Steve Durham tried to discredit the affirmation about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of the former baseball player Phil Garner. He noted that while some steroids increased muscle size, others didn’t promote enhancing muscles. So, he confirmed that the photos could display nothing about steroid use.
Federal prosecutors want to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they claim that physical changes in Barry Bonds display that he has administered steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t used steroids.

Massacre committed by steroid user

Anders Behring Breivik was charged with murder of 70 persons. He bombed governmental buildings in Oslo (Norway). Some teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by him on Utoya island in July 2011.
This criminal trained for the massacre substantially. He admitted that he had applied steroid cycles.  Since he utilized steroids, these medications were demonized for the deadly actions by numerous reporters.
But what did specialists claim? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested affirmations of these reporters. Dr. Moerland noted that anabolic steroids didn’t contribute in the massacre. But the forensic toxicologist noted that it was impossible to contest that these preparations could cause aggressiveness in Breivik.
An “ECA stack”, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also administered by the murderer. In fact, this combination is ordinarily administered by bodybuilders in order to burn fat and stimulate themselves for trainings. It was determined that the murderer has utilized great quantity of the stack. The amount administered by him was by 50 % high than it is allowed under rules of European Union.
The specialist Moerland claimed that the murderer’s behavior was more substantially influenced by the ECA than steroids. He explained that ephedrine might lead to desire to be involved in risky activities. Moerland noted that the killer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nonetheless, the forensic toxicologist Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ influence. The amount of caffeine consumed by the killer was equal to about 5 cups of coffee. Thus, the quantity was not enough enhanced in order to be demonized for the massacre.
The murderer described his usage of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals buying steroids at Alinshop.
Anders Breivik expressed his dislike of Dianabol because it could lead to fluid retention. He noted that Dianabol could add more body weight than consumers could carry. According to his affirmations, about 50 % of the mass acquired due to Dianabol is water retention. The murderer chose some combinations that were proper for his purposes.
The murderer studied effects of different steroids in order to choose those who were appropariate for his needs. He claimed that Testosterone Propionate was better than Dianabol. He also supposed that stacks of Dianabol with Aromasin or usage of Dianabol followed by intake of Winstrol could benefit obviously.
Thus, Breivik prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and application of dietary supplements. He also thought over every aspect related to attacks and murders.
However some persons confirmed that Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is evident that the crimes have been committed consciously.

Sydney Morning Herald: some gyms are linked with illegal activities of motorcycle gangs

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that illegal application of steroids has become widespread in Australia due to outlaw motorcycle gangs. The gangs get significant profit and decreased risks.
The detective Nick Bingham has affirmed that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation linked with intake of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when police officers arrest motorcycle gangs for violation of other laws.
According to Nick Bingham, although New South Wales police officers don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and stimulants are conducted.
Bingham has claimed that they usually seize such amounts of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are only for self-administration. Quantities of other medications that are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
Nick Bingham has confirmed that criminals prefer utilizing anabolic steroids in order to have threatening muscular physiques. They desire to look big and strong.
However Bingham is sure that gangs have steroids just for personal intake, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” doesn’t agree with his point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs play great role in smuggling of steroids.
However gyms are considered to be the main sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is confirmed by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that certain gyms have direct links with motorcycle gangs. The Herald claims that many seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are linked directly with distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to statements of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced obviously in comparison with past years.
More than 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and more than 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
Lots of seizures were linked with self-administration of steroids smuggled by bodybuilders.

David Segui intends to testify on behalf of government in trial related to Roger Clemens’ case

Federal prosecutors want the judge Reggie Walton to permit the Cuban-American former Major League Baseball first baseman David Segui to present testimony in the trial connected with the case of Roger Clemens. This person had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former coach of Roger Clemens. It is confirmed that they have discussed about steroid use by the former famous baseball player.
The former personal trainer of Roger Clemens was called to testify against his client because he turned out to be the only person who had direct knowledge about usage of steroids and other related medicines by Clemens. Moreover, he kept injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles which were allegedly mixed with Roger Clemens’ blood. DNA analysis was made in order to determine whether the blood belonged really to Clemens.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, confirmed that the steroid evidence was fabricated by Brian McNamee after the interrogation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he saved some things as evidence of steroid use by some players in 2001. It was some years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by David Segui to federal prosecutors differed completely from that provided to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His statements presented to Jim Baumbach were published in an article in 2008. According to that article, David Segui claimed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui learnt about involvement of Brian McNamee into the trial of Roger Clemens just in 2006, when he read an article in the Los Angeles Times.
Segui was quite open in his discussions about personal usage of steroids and other related drugs. He said that he had been asked many times by players of the Major League Baseball whether he had used steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman acknowledged that he had administered them. But Segui noted that he had never discussed about usage of steroids with Brian McNamee.
David Segui supported McNamee’s decision to save evidence about application of forbidden drugs by his clients. According to the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball, it is a reasonable decision because sometimes innocent guys are blamed but guilty persons are covered. So, Brian McNamee could help to disclose the truth.
Although the judge Walton was asked to permit David Segui to provide testimony in the trial linked with Roger Clemens, the decision of the judge is not announced yet.

Andre Berto claimed that he had never used steroids

The WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto tested positive for the steroid Nandrolone. He was tested by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).
This boxer was scheduled to meet Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. He agreed to submit to random drug testing before the match. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about usage of the anabolic steroid Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested fighters and caught them using steroids. The first boxer that tested positive this month due to tests conducted by the VADA was Lamont Peterson. He was scheduled to meet Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. The drug test conducted by the VADA indicated that exogenous testosterone was in this boxer’s system several weeks before the match.
The tests conducted by the VADA influenced greatly on financial position of several companies. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost significant potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was estimated by the CEO of the company Richard Schaeffer that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not influence greatly on financial position of certain promotional companies because Andre Berto will be possibly replaced by another boxer who will fight against Ortiz.
Andre Berto didn’t explain what had caused his positives. He hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Berto claimed that he had never utilized steroids. Thus, he noticed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. The boxer Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he achieved success in sport due to hard trainings and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs was hired by numerous other athletes who turned out to be victims of fake food supplements.
It is said that since the steroid Nandrolone has quite long half life and it is detected easily, it isn’t very popular among doping athletes. But it has been defined many times that certain food supplements contained the compound nandrolone which led to positives for steroids. But since sometimes not every ingredient is listed on the label, athletes become victims of contaminated sport supplements.

Chael Sonnen is allowed to use steroids and fight at UFC 148

The American mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen is allowed to use anabolic steroids. The physician Timothy Trainor noted that this sportsperson really experienced hypogonadism.
What does this condition represent? Hypogonadism is connected with insufficient secretion of the hormone testosterone. Doctors ordinarily recommend hormone replacement therapy in order to cure this disorder.
This fighter has acquired a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). So, this athlete is allowed to apply steroids for clinical needs and meet Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to indications given by Sonnen’s doctor, he should apply injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice weekly. The doses that are indicated have not been disclosed. But under rules of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in this athlete should remain within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
According to the physician Trainor, those that compete with TUE must be tested on the morning after the match to determine whether they have administered something right before the fight.
The doctor Trainor believes that testosterone is able to produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is utilized right before the fight. He states that injections must not be applied in the days before a fight in order to prevent increased levels of testosterone.
But it seems that the NAC doesn’t know that steroids cause benefits connected with increase of performance, not only if they are utilized right before competitions. Administration of steroids influences essentially on performance during trainings before competitions. And the effects remain even after sportspeople discontinue using them.
The fighter Chael Sonnen had high testosterone levels at UFC 117. He admitted that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  After his appeal the suspension was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski used his celebrity in sports in order to smuggle and sell narcotics

Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, was sentenced to 9 months in prison due to illicit international drug trade. This sportsperson was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he attempted to board the plane with 8 kg of cocaine. This athlete was headed to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in European countries.
Galabin Boevski is a well-known sportsman in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most famous weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught taking steroids in 1995. Of course, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this sportsman was caught using banned medications in 2004. It was the second time when he broke doping rules. In fact, Galabin Boevski didn’t test positive for any banned medicines. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this sportsperson belonged to another individual. As a result, Galabin Boevski received 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught smuggling cocaine.
Galabin Boevski became prominent due to his success in weightlifting. This sportsperson won gold medals at certain competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver Boevski and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples that belonged to another individual. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the three urine samples were produced by one individual. These sportspersons received suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Boevski broke several world records at various competitions. He held 3 world records. The best lifts of this sportsman were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is wondering but this weightlifter’s reputation was not destroyed in Bulgaria. He utilized his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The center was named Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, Maria Isabel do Prado, the Brazilian judge, claimed that Galabin Boevski used also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noticed that this weightlifter used the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament in order to cover his illegal operations related to smuggling of the narcotic.
Boevski claimed that he would appeal the conviction.

Disappointment of Roger Clemens’ prosecutors

The desire of the federal government connected with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they hoped to prove that this athlete had lied before the Congress about usage of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government couldn’t achieve this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would confirm that Roger Clemens had admitted that he had taken the prohibited preparations during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the affirmation of Andy Pettitee was shocking for prosecutors. This person said that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
Actually, were the prosecutors of Roger Clemens disappointed by the testimony of Andy Pettitte? This person swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on administration of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens acknowledged that he had taken HGH. But he provided opposite testimony at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may affirm that he is 50-50 that he has misunderstood Roger Clemens about HGH. Andy Pettitte answered that he is indeed 50-50 about this factor.
When the prosecutors heard Pettitte’s answer, they didn’t know what to do. They claimed that Andy Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked several times.
The judge Reggie Walton noted that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the federal prosecutors’ embarrassment. They asked the judge to ignore the testimony of Andy Pettitte because he was 50-50. The attorneys concluded that he probably misunderstood the athlete Roger Clemens or he can’t remember the details of the conversation.
The government has responded that the jury still allows taking into account the testimony of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has pointed out that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which testimony to believe. This person hopes that the jury will disregard the testimony that doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of his wife during the first trial resulted in the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte claims that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also confirm that they are friends after Andy  Pettitte’s last testimony.

Five police officers were shot by Cullen Mutrie

Law enforcement officers came to Cullen Mutrie for a drug investigation. This ma shot 5 police officers at his home. As a result, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed; 4 police officers were wounded. The next morning this cop-killer and a woman were found dead.
It is supposed that Cullen Mutrie was applying anabolic steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, noticed that toxicology reports were waiting in order to find out whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this person.
Police reported that Cullen Mutrie had had a very muscular physique. This man worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was reported that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. He weighed 275 pounds. During a search that took place in July 2010 law enforcement officers discovered anabolic steroids at his home. The police official Wayne Young saw them in a coffee table. He said that he had observed a plastic bag with several vials. A vial was with powder; others contained solution. According to the labels, they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was defined that the vials contained such medications, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
John Miller, a professor of kinesiology, was asked whether a connection between the crime and “roid rage” of anabolic steroids could present. The professor confirmed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to affirm that there was a direct connection between administration of anabolic steroids and the shootout.
John Miller suggested that steroids which were on the black market were provided from legal pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids which are sold on the black market are manufactured in underground labs. It is even suspected that Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a link between criminal actions and usage of steroids is a controversial issue, not only policemen but also media investigates the case linked with this killer.

Alistar Overeem claimed that he had never taken steroids intentionally

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension which was received by him for usage of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But Alistar Overeem couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. He forfeited his license for 9 months. Then this fighter will be allowed to obtain it again.
This fighter acknowledged that he had applied injectable testosterone that was recommended him by his health care provider. Overeem utilized the strategy which was considered to be boring. He claimed that he had never utilized anabolic steroids or other related medicines knowingly. Alistar Overeem tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable application of steroids was accidental.
The defense attorney for Alistar Overeem was David Chesnoff who has been experienced in defending famous sportspeople.
Chesnoff called the personal doctor of Overeem to testify during the hearing. It was believed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this athlete. Testimonies of this health care provider were too miserable. The physician Molina presented an explanation for prescriptions of several medicines that led to Overeem’s elevated testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem admitted that he recommended and injected his patient with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he had an injury. Actually, these medicines are used for anti-inflammatory needs. But intake of testosterone for recovery from injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is supposed that the doctor Molina hasn’t informed this fighter that these preparations contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of the health care provider Molina turned out to display lack of the evidence related to medical purposes for intake of forbidden medicines by Alistar Overeem. The physician couldn’t provide any reasonable explanation that could justify recommendations of Toradol and Dexamethasone to this man. Testimonies of the physician Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
In fact, it became evident that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the physician’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Alistar Overeem. She even called him a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the doctor Moline. They recommended him to look for more qualified professionals in the future.
