Dangerous effect of steroids on brain cells

It is well-known that steroids are administrated by many sportsmen in order to increase muscle size and energy. But according to recent researches, utilizing of steroids is a too negative aspect for brain cells. Since these medicines increase amount of testosterone in body, they influence negatively and even destroy brain cells. This confirmation about destruction of nerve cells by increased amount of testosterone was approved by a study leaded by Yale School of Medicine that was published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry.
Scientists confirm that abnormal aggressiveness manifested by steroids consumers testify that certain amount of nerve cells was destroyed due to taking of steroids.
Barbara Ehrlich, a professor, a leader of a study related to steroids use, recommends not to condemn steroids users, if they act unproperly. It is important to understand that it may be not their blame. Steroids must have been responsible for abnormal actions of those who use these drugs.
The study leaded by Yale School of Medicine displayed that testosterone killed nerve cells. One of important functions of testosterone produced naturally is following: to destruct brain cells which can be harmful for the whole body due to their destructions. But when level of testosterone is induced, it destructs not only destructed cells but healthy ones too. It can cause such serious problems, as appearing of Alzheimer's and Huntingdon's disease and others.

Aggressiveness of hamsters due to steroids
Hamsters were enrolled in a research published in the journal Behavioral Neuroscience. The scientists involved in the research observed influence of anabolic steroids upon the hamsters. The hamsters that were given these medicines became too aggressive. Their brain activity was changed a lot due to these medicines.
The researches made a conclusion that steroids affected people’s brain the same way as hamsters’ brain. According to their confirmations, people suggest that steroids are forbidden due to their athletic effects. But they should understand that the chief reason is negative influence of these preparations on human health. These preparations should be used only for medical needs by prescriptions of specialists. Steroids use in sports should be banned totally.
